In Southeast Asia, it appears that mangoes are served with or integrated into almost everything that you order: In your drinks, snacks, apps, salads, main courses, and desserts. Well, some are good ideas and some might not be. But the mango and roast duck salad that I am enjoying right now at Jumbo Seafood is close to heavenly.
It is just the perfect combination. Savory and sweet. Savory and fruity. Savory and refreshing.
It is slightly sweet, slightly citrus, and moderately tangy, Really, a perfect mango and roast duck salad!
If you really love mangoes, (hey, you are in Singapore) then have a mango margarita and chill by the beach. Or maybe a Hong Kong style mango pudding. How about a taste of Mango Pomelo Sago – a popular Malaysian dessert?
But I think I’ve had enough mangoes for the moment. I am awaiting, with much anticipation and excitement, the arrival of my chili crabs – the famous signature dish of Jumbo Seafood, as well as the almost cultural dish of Singapore.
